Full or part-time
Permanent employee

Our mission:

Are you a motivated and proactive early-career sales professional with initial experience in IT sales who wants to help grow our business by managing leads and building partner relationships?
PowerDNS, part of the Open-Xchange (OX) company, is a well-established provider of DNS software for Connectivity, Network Management, Protection and Content Filtering. With our products, we support an open-source community as well as Telco Operators, Enterprises, and Hosting Providers. Our solutions safely connect millions of users worldwide.

Discover what OX offers you:

  • We work in a non-hierarchical organization that empowers everyone to take responsibility, stay focused, and contribute directly to the company’s success and customer value.
  • We value expertise and continuous professional development. Our professionals work closely with experienced colleagues, take ownership of their work, and continuously expand their skills.
  • Openness and diversity are core to OX. Different perspectives, backgrounds, and ways of thinking strengthen our collaboration and help us see the bigger picture.

Your team:

You'll be part of our cross-functional European PowerDNS Sales team. In close collaboration with colleagues from Marketing, Presales Engineering, Professional Services, and Product Management, you'll work on new leads and partner opportunities to drive new business for PowerDNS.
The team is international and distributed across various locations in Europe, just like our customers and partners across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.

Your new job:

  • Handle new requests, opportunities, inbound leads, and incoming partner requests in our CRM for mid-sized deals.
  • Develop an understanding of our products and solutions and use professional sales tools for deal calculation and positioning proposals in competitive situations.
  • Collaborate closely with technical and sales colleagues to ramp up quickly and successfully manage your own deals.
  • Contribute to pipeline planning and forecasting.
  • Align with Marketing on the right targeting of companies and contacts.
  • Develop your own business segments over time after becoming familiar with the solutions, markets, and internal processes.
  • Occasionally attend conferences, customer or partner meetings, and internal alignment meetings, while most deals are closed virtually.
  • Share ideas on solutions and markets in regular internal meetings and actively help shape the PowerDNS strategy.

Your background:

  • First practical experience in IT sales, business development, or another customer-facing role within a technology environment, ideally as an entry-level candidate starting a career in tech sales.
  • Confident communication skills in English, both verbally and in writing, with the ability to interact comfortably with customers in calls, meetings, and presentations.
  • Self-motivated, outgoing, and proactive personality with the confidence to work outside your comfort zone and succeed in tech sales.
  • Basic knowledge of and interest in provider and enterprise IT topics such as networking, connectivity, compliance, and cloud technologies; knowledge of DNS, IP, cybersecurity, or network filtering is a plus.
  • Analytical and structured way of working, including the ability to interpret KPI- and tool-based reports and support activity tracking where needed.
  • Basic negotiation skills and a willingness to continuously develop commercial, technical, and sales capabilities.
  • Commercial, business-related, or technical education or degree combined with a collaborative mindset and enjoyment in learning from and working with international teams.
  • Willingness for regular in-person collaboration and meetings in the Munich area, especially during the onboarding phase, as well as occasional travel across Europe.

This is what you get at OX:

  • Being part of a well-known Open Source company connecting the world, an innovation leader and outperformer in a world of tech giants.
  • The flexibility to work 100% remotely ensures a work environment that suits you best.
  • Flexible working hours that allow you to successfully combine your home and family responsibilities with work.
  • Getting together in-person for workshops and fun team events.
  • Time off to volunteer – and mental health support when you need it.
  • We provide financial relief through corporate benefits and a subsidy for ergonomic chairs and desks.
  • We can discuss further location-related benefits together in an initial talk.
